Life in the great depression was very rough for majority of citizens. Jobs were scarce, banks failed, stocks failed, no one had any money. Company millionaires that 
were rich one day, lived on the street the next. Industry closed, and farming in the mid west became impossi
ble due to a severe drought at the time. Many people lived on the streets or in limited spacing shelters, and the only meals they recieved was from bread lines or soup kitchens, which more than likely contained long lines and many people starved to death.
